Community Services

The goals of the Community Services and Charity works of the Chamber is to promote goodwill towards the New Zealand community amongst Thai people and to develop a relationship with the local community.

The Chamber has continued its sponsorship and support of 4 nominated schools in Kanchanaburi Province:

Details of the schools and their projects are as follows:

1.    Wat Thammungkornthong

The school has extended their green house and irrigation system from last year’s original plots, adding a sprinkler system to both the original and present green house. This has enabled them to plant and grow more vegetables to be used for school meals and provide greater income for the school, through the sale of any surplus produce.

2.    Baan Nong Kwang

Last year’s donation has enabled the school to construct a covered a walkway with a concrete pathway leading from the main school building to the library. Enabling the students to stay dry and out of the sun when moving between buildings.  At present we are looking to help with their kindergarten classroom renovations; to provide better insulation and air-flow.  Currently, the classroom is too hot and dusty for the students to use in the latter part of the day.

3.    Arthorn Sangkla Wattana 3

An irrigation system to grow bamboo shoots for school  meals, and to provide a small amount of revenue for the school through the sale of surplus production.

4.    Wat Na Phraya

The donation made to the school has enabled them to complete a refurbishment of the canteen building and kitchen through the purchase of tables, chairs and benches for the student’s canteen. A new gas stove, refrigerator and kitchen cabinet have been purchased for the school’s kitchen.
