There is a misconception that the non-immigrant visa category ‘B’ is a business visa and that it permits short-stay business visitors to Thailand to work during their visit. It is NOT a permit to work. Of all the countries in the region Thailand DOES NOT HAVE a business visa as such. Note that very recently, Thai Immigration has increased the extension of the 60-day Tourist Visa by an additional 30 days if the holder applies for the extension at a Thai Immigration office in Thailand. With an approved extension, tourists can now stay for up to 90 days. The exception is citizens of countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and a few other countries in that region where Muslim extremism currently prevails.
