We invite members, non-members and friends to join a Breakfast Talk hybrid event hosted by the NZTCC in collaboration with New Zealand ASEAN Business Alliance (NZABA) on 29 April 2022 (Friday) at 8:00-10:00 AM (ICT). 

We are excited to be joined by eminent guest speakers, Prof. Dr. Pavida Pananond, a Professor of International Business at the Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University and Prof. Dr. Thitinan Pongsudhirak, a Professor and Director of the Institute of Security and International Studies at Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University, who will give their views on "Thailand Economic Outlook". The event will be moderated by Brenton Mauriello, the Chairman of dwp|design worldwide partnership and the Vice President of AusCham - ASEAN.

Following the successful breakfast talk events in recent years, we are back with another breakfast talk in 2022. This will be the first hybrid webinar event hosted by the NZTCC!

BRIEF BIO OF THE SPEAKERS

[Prof. Dr. Pavida Pananond]

Prof. Dr. Pavida Pananond is a Professor of International Business at Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University. Pavida received her Ph.D. from the University of Reading (UK), MBA from McGill University (Canada), and BA from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand). Her research focuses on the international expansion of firms, with specific reference to global value chain positioning and upgrading strategies of emerging market firms. Pavida has authored over 40 publications. Her research appears as articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals, including California Management Review, Global Strategy Journal, Multinational Business Review, and Journal of International Management. She serves on a number of editorial boards of international peer- reviewed journals and is Honorary Adviser to Asia New Zealand Foundation. In addition to MBA and executive teaching, she also provides briefings to diplomatic missions, chambers of commerce, and multinational companies. Her corporate role includes board membership of Precious Shipping Public Company Limited, Thailand’s leading dry bulk carrier, where she serves as independent director and member of the audit, risk management, and remuneration committees. Pavida also undertakes consultancy research for international organizations, including the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Her commentaries have also been published, and cited in local and international media, including The Economist, Financial Times, and the BBC. Pavida is a frequent speaker at international public forums and investor conferences.

[Prof. Dr. Thitinan Pongsudhirak]

Prof. Dr. Thitinan Pongsudhirak is a Professor and Director of the Institute of Security and International Studies at Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University. Thitinan has held visiting positions at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and Stanford University, and currently serves on several editorial boards of academic journals, including Journal of Democracy. He has authored many publications and over 1,000 op-eds in mass media, such as The Bangkok Post, Nikkei Asia, The Straits Times, and Project Syndicate. His work focuses on comparative politics and geopolitics/geoeconomics of ASEAN and East Asia. In 2015, he was awarded a prize for excellence in opinion writing from Society of Publishers in Asia; in March 2018, he was appointed ASEAN@50 Fellow by New Zealand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade; and in May 2019, he was selected as Australia-ASEAN Fellow at Sydney’s Lowy Institute. Thitinan earned an award-winning PhD from The London School of Economics.

[Brenton Mauriello]

Brenton Mauriello is the Executive Chairman of dwp|design worldwide partnership, leading group strategy, operations and business development globally and is a highly professional and experienced individual with more than 25 years of experience leading for-profit as well as for non-profit organizations. Brenton is managing operations of a global architecture firm across nine countries as a licensed builder and auctioneer who has significant management experience garnered across construction, architecture, design, pharmaceutical and distribution. He is also a fellow and part time facilitator at IOD, the Institute of Directors of Thailand, Senior Vice President of the Australia ASEAN Chamber of Commerce (and past President) as well as Past President and Vice President of the Australian–Thai Chamber of Commerce. He is also a current Chairman of The Advance Australia Council (Thailand), The Australian Football League (AFL) Association Thailand and the South Australia Club Thailand. He is currently undertaking a Doctorate of Business in Corporate Governance with the Australian Institute of Business. Brenton graduated from University of South Australia, followed by a Master in Business Administration from the University of Singapore.

- Due to COVID-19 restrictions and policies, please kindly show your RT-PCR / ATK test results conducted within 24 hours prior to the event and a proof of your vaccination certificate (optional). 

- All the attendees must prepare a photo of the negative result by indicating name/date/time together with either your passport or national ID card to show upon the arrival before going into the venue. Please bring along the photo you took of the negative result and passport/ national ID card with you on the event day.

 - Masks must be worn throughout the whole event except for the breakfast serving time.
