The British Club Bangkok is a private members Club in downtown Bangkok with its entrance in Silom Soi 18. We were founded in 1903 as a British businessmen’s Club but have developed over the past century to the social, sports and cultural Centre for the English speaking community in Bangkok. Our present Clubhouse was opened in 1910 and we received our clubhouse land as a gift from H.M. King Vajiravudh in 1915. Often called ‘an oasis in the heart of Bangkok’ we have a compact range of sports and dining facilities on our 1.4 hectare site – with a British Pub, three restaurants and a café, and on site tennis courts, squash courts, fitness centre, snooker, cricket nets, Thai massage, swimming pool and all-weather court – we also have a children’s pool and playground. The Club has three function rooms for business meetings and landscaped gardens for parties and large function. Members also enjoy an off-site catering service for their homes, offices and schools and the use of 250 Reciprocal Clubs around the world. Ownership The Club is owned by its membership, of whom 62.7% are Commonwealth Realm (Australian, British, Canadian, New Zealand), 13.5% Thai and 23.8% International
