A key highlight of the NZTCC calendar is the Annual Kiwi Ball, a prestigious event that brings together the business community and supporters of New Zealand–Thai relations. Job Summary:

 

The Executive Director serves as the senior executive of the Chamber, responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the organization. The Executive Director works closely with the Committee to develop and implement the Chamber’s vision, mission, and goals. This role requires a skilled leader with a strong business acumen, diplomatic abilities, and the capacity to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1) Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead the development and execution of the Chamber’s strategic plan in alignment with the Board’s vision.
  • Foster strong relationships with members, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key representative and advocate for the Chamber, promoting the interests of New Zealand and Thai businesses.


2) Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Chamber, including events, communications, and member services.
  • Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure the financial health of the Chamber, including budget preparation, financial reporting, and securing sponsorships and partnerships.

 

3) Membership Engagement:

  • Develop strategies to grow and retain the Chamber’s membership base.
  • Identify and implement programs, events, and services that add value for members.
  • Maintain regular communication with members, gathering feedback to enhance the Chamber’s offerings.

 

4) Event Planning and Execution:

  • Oversee the planning and delivery of high-quality events, such as business forums, networking events, and seminars.
  • Work with partners, sponsors, and venues to ensure successful event execution.
  • Represent the Chamber at key events and functions, both locally and internationally.

 

5) Advocacy and Public Relations:

  • Advocate for the interests of NZTCC members in dialogue with governments, trade organizations, and other business groups.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, enhancing the Chamber’s visibility and brand.
  • Prepare speeches, reports, and public statements to promote the Chamber’s goals and achievements.

 

6) Board Governance:

  • Work closely with the Committee, providing updates on operational, financial, and strategic matters.
  • Attend Committee meetings and present reports on the Chamber’s activities, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Assist the Committee in recruiting new directors and ensuring sound governance practices.

 

Qualifications:

  • Thai nationality only
  • Experience:

    • Experience in a leadership role, ideally in a chamber of commerce, non-profit, or business association.

    • Proven track record of managing teams, overseeing budgets, and delivering results in a membership-based organization.

    • Experience in event management, advocacy, and public relations.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse range of stakeholders.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language  and presentation skills.

    • Business acumen, with experience in strategic planning and financial management.

    • Cross-cultural competence, with an understanding of both New Zealand and Thai business environments.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
